Sniffies alternative: how HUNTR compares
Map-first vs. profile-first
Sniffies is known for putting a live map at the center. HUNTR is profile-first with a map built in: you can browse members, send a Hunt, chat, and then switch to the map to see places and groups near you.
Location privacy on HUNTR
On HUNTR, member locations are rounded to about half a mile before they're saved, and members never appear as exact pins. Hosted groups are placed within about three-quarters of a mile of the host, never at their door.
Places and invite-only groups
The HUNTR map lists only places the team has approved, so you won't find fake or spam pins. Members can host invite-only groups that appear on the map with a Request invite button — the host reviews each request and decides who to invite.
Accounts and age checks
HUNTR requires an email account and an exact date of birth at sign-up, and is strictly 18+. Your profile can stay blank — you'll show up as a New member until you add details.
Independence note
HUNTR is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Sniffies. Sniffies is a trademark of its respective owner. Features and pricing of other apps change often, so check Sniffies's official website or app store listing for its current details.
